Scotty Boy

While in Az we hit up the BEST Hawaiian restaurant around....the Aloha Kitchen. Oke's brother Taki and his family Sarah and Scott joined us. WE had so much fun with this little cutie. Do you see how long his eyelashes are????? This boy is breaking hearts all over Az. and soon to be breaking them in Maui.
Making my boat
Regatta Races

Tanner and David had a really fun time at scouts. They had a regatta race with their boats they made at Lowes. The boats were soo
funny..... some went forward , some went sideways, some went backwards, and some even sank! But it was such a great time and Lila even made one that she let her cousin Seichi use because he had forgotten his at school. Tanner's boat ended up winning the race and Lila's was third!!!
Kindg. times 2

Here is my little student one week after the meltdown. She is a much different child in these photos. She has found her way and is happily engaged in school. Every day when we get home she goes straight to the table and says " I have to do my homework now!" Who new I would have such a studious young lady.

Introduction to Kindg.
WE had talked about school for soo long, I really wasn't worried about how Lila would react the first time we went for our little orientation. BOY was I shocked. She was happy walking in but that quickly changed to tears, clinging on, and refusal to do anything. I'm sure the teacher telling her to write her name and "Lila" writing L-i-l-a and then saying she had to go by Chantel ( her first given name ) was a little too much for her. I was mad because we had worked so hard on writing her name just so and now she had to relearn her much longer name in like two days. When the other kids went out to the playground, Lila was the only one who didn't run and play and be a kid. Instead she clung on to Oke for dear life and cried hysterically. Poor baby !!!

Desert Ridge Marriott
Huntington Beach

We decided to check out the California beaches while we were there in June this summer...needless to say they were gray and overcast. NOTHING like the blue of Hawaii, but we did manage to see something that was new to us.......A 10 foot great white shark clear as day in a glassy wave!!! The lifeguard said it had been spotted numerous times all day. Funny that they didn't evacuate! My kids got out immediately and never went back in. Good thing!!!

Makahiki

The Makahiki was some good fun this year. Oke went all out trying to build the winning car with Tanner and David. He researched best kept secrets of the derby car and came up with some great stuff. Both of the boys made it to the finals. Tanner got 5th place and David was in the top 10. Blake enjoyed being a Boy scout and winning numerous sodas from the games with his buddy Anton. Afterward , Oke and the kids went to a 1st year birthday bash and I went and sang for a program at church. Always a busy day on the weekend for us.
Look who came for a visit
These two completely baked cuties stopped over for a week of fun in the sun on the Big Island. Lizzie Sclofman( the blonde) was one of my darling young women from when we lived in AZ. Hard to believe she is almost 22 now. But anywho, she and Alecia were having a "fun semester" at BYUH and they came and explored the Island. They snorkeled, zip lined, hiked the volcano, went to Hapuna and just cruised the Island. I believe they had a fantastic time. WE loved having them and look forward to seeing Lizzie when we get to Phoenix in June.
( Can you say......SUNBLOCK!!!! LOL)

When I was waiting for my flight I saw this amazing sunset and couldn't resist taking a shot. The beauty here in Hawaii is one of a kind.
