Happy

LIla was in such a happy mood today I couldn't help but snap some pictures before she went to her best friends house to play. OF course my camera battery died so I will have to post some of them another time.

Missionaries to dinner

On Sat. we hosted our ward missionaries, two miss. from another ward , and a Boy in our ward who is getting ready to go on a mission. I had asked them what they would like to have, they replied " Pizza." Blake had told them the last time they were over that we loved making homemade pizza, so they wanted to try. WE had such a great time in the kitchen making them. WE had mushrooms, two different cheeses, spinach, pepperoni, peppers, Canadian bacon, etc. The pizza's all turned out delicious and the elders picked up on some tips for creative dating when they get home. Aside from the fun in the kitchen Oke also grilled T-Bones, made funeral potato's, spinach salad, watermelon and two different cakes..Haupia and a strawberry custard. I was exhausted BUT we knew the elders would feel full and appreciated. Our whole family really enjoys when we can have that wonderful spirit in our home and the great example those elders are to our children. MY boys are thrilled with the thought that they will serve a mission. I will cry and miss them soo much, BUT thankfully it is 7 years away for the first goodbye.

DiBs at 8 AM!

Lila: Mom I want a snack!
Me: OK get some grapes in the fridge.
Lila: I already got something !
Me: Come show me what you've found.
(I was working in the office upstairs)
Lila: It's something yummy !!! She then shows me the DIBS!!
Me: Lila, it is only 8 in the morning ......we don't eat yummy treats this early!
Lila: Well Daddy let's me!
Me: Figures!!!

Seriously my daughter is a junk food junkie AND loves good real food too. She grazes the entire day and doesn't gain an ounce( Lucky duck) just like her dad. I guess she has the Aholelei gene for loving ice cream. Bon Appetit!

My CAR!

This was too good to be true! My Fiat X19 was right in front of me in downtown Kona Hawaii. When I turned 16 my parents bought me a car ...this car! Mine was a lighter yellow bUt everything else was the same. Seeing this car brought back the best memories ever. Oh how I loved this car. When I went away to college my sister in law used it and she blew the engine one day on the freeway. It was ruined so I never got to see my little Italian zoomer again.I was soo happy to see my car again today.

IRONMAN 2008

The Big Island of Hawaii is home to the world's largest Triathalon. The race is 2.4 miles swim.
112 miles Bike and 26.2 miles Run. It is one of the most amazing things to witness. The roads are all closed down and Helicopters and journalists on Motorcycles follow the athletes. Blake and the Y.Men volunteered so the rest of our family went down to watch and be a part of the festivities. Oke and the boys all bought T-shirts and quickly changed into them to show their kokua to the racers. We saw the men's winner as he transitioned from bike to run. He was WAAAAY in front of his competitors. He finished the race in just over 6 hours. While we waited it out we enjoyed shave ice with ice cream in the middle ...quite a healthy snack considering where we were! WE did walk around a lot and went up steep hills. Oke is gearing up for his two marathons in DEC. "08 and February "09. His goal is to compete in the Ironman next year! Hats off to that one dude!!!! Ford sponsored car in the water.

Halloween is coming

Halloween is one of our favorite times of the year. The Ranch gets cold and we can light fires, the stores are full of creepy stuff and tons of CaNdY!!!! The kids are busy picking out which costume they want and I am loving lighting my candles that smell like pumkin and spices.

Happy 4th Birthday

Lila had a really fun party this year. She invited all of her Sunbeam class to come up to the ranch and play in the bouncy castle, swim, break a pinata, do a tinkerbell craft, and hAVE SOME good eats. We really enjoyed spending time with our friends.
